What is going on in Seattle!?!?

Breaking News on King5.com, Seattle Police are searching for a gunman who ran away from Cafe Racer in the just east of Green Lake and I-5 and west of Ravenna Park.  Two male victims were killed, and two more men and a woman were taken to Harborview Medical Center. North Green Lake Senator Found Dead

State Senator Scott White, 41, was found dead in his Suncadia hotel room just outside of Roslyn, WA.  His body was found by the housekeepers when he failed to check out.  Click the link for more details about the Senator’s death. White was Seattle’s State Senator for the 46th district.  The 46th district includes north Green Lake, while south Green Lake is in the 43rd district, and west Green Lake is in the 36th district.

Greenwood Car Show

If you are a car lover, then check out the car show this weekend on Greenwood Avenue between 68th and 90th.  The event starts this Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 8 AM and runs until 4 PM.  Over 60,000 people that are expected to attend this weekend’s Greenwood Car Show. Green Lake Drivers Look Out

Green Lake drivers beware as you head in and out of the area on Aurora Avenue.  Yesterday police gave over 677 tickets to 509 drivers on North Aurora.  They did also give nearly 200 drivers warnings instead of tickets. The police had set up a command center at 125th and Aurora and had over 50 officers involved.  Thursday was only the beginning of a two year project to improve “safety” along Aurora Avenue – so continue to drive carefully, obey…

Green Lake Freezing

The weather this winter has been exceptionally cold and has begun to freeze parts of Seattle’s Green Lake! Green Lake has experienced complete freezing before, in the winters of 1916, 1919 and 1972, just to name a few. In these years, the ice was so thick residents would gather to skate on the lake.
