Fishing News & Updates at Green Lake

With the arrival of springtime, Green Lake is about to become a busy hive for local fishing. To get the season off to a great start, The Northwest Fly Anglers will be hosting a special Beginning Fly Casting Class starting Tuesday, April 4 at the Green Lake Casting Pier (northwest side of the lake). Snow-Laden Tree Branch Falls on Man at Green Lake Dog Park

After Monday morning’s excessive snow fall, many trees around the city were laden with an unprecedented amount of fresh snow. The consequences of that were serious for one dog-walker, who was injured when a tree fell on him. At around 12:20 p.m., Seattle Fire received reports that a tree had fallen in the Lower Woodland Off-Leash Dog Area, trapping a man underneath. Collision Between Fire Engine and Ladder Truck in Green Lake Hospitalizes 8 Firefighters

A Seattle fire engine collided with a ladder truck at about 8 a.m. on New Year’s Day, sending eight firefighters to the hospital and smashing into the storefront of a massage business near the intersection of NE 65th Street and 12th Avenue NE. The firefighters were taken to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation, but were released with no serious injuries.
