City Council May Approve Ordinance to Allow Homeless Camping Around Green Lake

The Seattle Department of Transportation and Seattle Parks and Recreation recently prepared two maps that outline areas throughout the city that could be suitable for use as camping sites for homeless individuals, including Green Lake. A man and a woman were playing Pokémon Go near the Green Lake Boathouse on July 11th at about 10:30 a.m. when they were attacked and robbed. The suspect grabbed the woman’s cell phone, and her male companion attempted to grab the thief to detain him. Green Lake Eyesore Catches Fire, Shuts Down Aurora Avenue

An abandoned home in Green Lake caught fire in the early hours of the morning on Friday, June 17th. The extent of the blaze required Seattle firefighters to shut down the southbound lanes of Aurora Avenue for more than two hours. The fire reportedly broke out at about 4:20 a.m. on Friday morning.
