An active and outdoorsy community, Green Lake also has a lot to offer in terms of education and study. Boasting a Carnegie library along with its long-standing cluster of schools in the area, the neighborhood has a history in education and literacy for its inhabitants.
The Green Lake Community Council and Chamber of Commerce are smaller here than in some of the other Seattle neighborhoods, but each meets monthly to promote the well being of the community and bring it together.
Although the Green Lake community no longer hosts the 4th of July, Bite of Seattle, or aquatic theatre events that it used to, it is still a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of attractions. Whether you live in the Green Lake neighborhood, or you’re visiting to enjoy the beautiful lake and parks surrounding the lake, it is a fun and relaxing place to be – an oasis of calm set near the heart of Seattle.
