Green Lake Events: Things to do in April
A free self-defense class, tequila festival, and food walk are a few Green Lake events coming up this month.
April 2: Run Prepared 2 Self Defense Class
2-3:30pm | Green Lake Park
In response to an attack on a runner at Green Lake in 2014, Fighting Chance Seattle is hosting its second Run Prepared Self Defense Class for women. This empowerment and awareness workshop will cover safety and self-defense moves. The class is free with registration.
April 3: Walk, Run and Roll for Thought
9-11am | Green Lake Community Center
Walk, Run and Roll for Thought is a community event to raise awareness about brain injury and fundraise to support services for patients, survivors, family members and care givers. There will be a 5K and one-mile course for walkers, joggers, wheelchairs and kids. Click here to register.
April 22-23: Northwest Tequila Fest
Northwest Tequila Fest is the largest tequila and mezcal tasting event in the Pacific Northwest, featuring more than 130 agave spirits. Taste and talk with representatives from each brand while enjoying food, live music and great company. Purchase tickets here.
April 27: When to call 9-1-1
11:15am | Green Lake Library
April is 9-1-1 National Public Education Month. The King County E-911 Program Office is hosting When To Call 9-1-1 workshops featuring story time and activities. This event is free at the Green Lake Library.
April 30: Green Lake Food Walk
1:30 – 5:30pm | Green Lake Village
It’s like an art walk, but for food! The Green Lake Chamber of Commerce presents the Green Lake Food Walk, which aims to let participants explore local businesses through food sampling. Dozens of restaurants and retailers in the area will serve samples, coupons and goodies to food walkers. The event ends with a beer garden at Shelter Lounge. Click here to purchase tickets.
