September 1: First Friday Film, “The Artist”

While spots around the city are doing outdoor movies, sometimes you need an air-conditioned, cool environment to enjoy a movie in this summer heat. The Greenwood Senior Center is hosting a free movie afternoon, featuring “The Artist”, on Friday, September 1st from 1 – 4 p.m.

Saturdays in September: Seattle Folklore Society Concerts
7:30pm – 10pm | Phinney Center Concert Hall, Brick Building

Laurie Lewis & the Right Hands is performing September 16th, John Whelan & Dale Russ are performing September 23rd, and Steve James is performing on September 30th. General Admission is $16 – $20 depending on the event.

September 9: Book Exchange

Bring your gently used books to exchange them for something new at the Book Exchange on September 9th! Genres being exchanged include mystery, fantasy, science fiction, cookbooks, and kids’ books. September 27: Pig Out to Root Out Hunger
All Day | Phinney/Greenwood Neighborhoods
Dine out to help provide meals to low-income, elderly and disabled residents of our neighborhood on September 27th, with Pig Out to Root Out Hunger. Dozens of restaurants, cafes, and shops around the neighborhood are participating, donating 15% of their proceeds on September 27th to this cause. The PNA’s Hot Meal Program provides three meals per week (two dinners and one lunch) to the less fortunate members of our community. Each year, the program serves more than 16,000 meals.
