Seattle Parks Truck Accidentally Rolls into Green Lake

Green Lake is a popular place all year round, but it’s especially so in the summertime. Everyone wants to get out on the water or enjoy a trek around the lake, and that means that maintenance of this beautiful neighborhood spot requires a bit more attention.
There’s such a thing as too much involvement with Green Lake, however, as one Seattle Parks and Rec Department employee found last week. Last Thursday afternoon, a Seattle Parks truck slipped into the lake on accident!
Q13 Fox reported that “A spokesperson for the Parks Department said the truck was parked to unload some materials for a job, but rolled down the hill into the lake. Officials were investigating why it rolled down the hill.”
According to the Department of Ecology, who responded to the scene to clean up any environmental disrupters, the truck just somehow “found its way in”. The driver was uninjured and there was no harm to the lake; crews deployed a boom to contain any oil or gas spills, but there were none.
A tow truck pulled the Seattle Parks vehicle out of the lake.
